This week’s episode of Radio Free Nintendo hits a bit of a bump with our deep dive into Death Wish 4 coming right out of the gate (00:00:26). Although this segment was technically part of the intro, you know we love to initiate our episodes in our own distinctive way.
We tend to spend a good chunk of time welcoming new listeners by getting them familiar with our voices and catching everyone up on whether or not Jon’s with us today (he usually isn’t). Once past the introductions, it’s time for NEW BUSINESS! Greg kicks things off with a brief update on Mario & Luigi: Brothership and leads us into a chat about the latest addition to the Nintendo Switch Online lineup: Donkey Kong Land (00:13:38). James returns with his signature meticulously thoughtful commentary on the newly-released KUUKYOMI 4: Consider It (00:31:04). By now, these games are almost a genre of their own—quirky and fun. Guillaume wraps up his thoughts on Trials of Mana (00:39:54), praising it as an excellent game. Plus, it’s part of the Nintendo Black Friday sale! However, his mood turns less enthusiastic when discussing the Amazon series Like a Dragon: Yakuza (00:45:43). In a move that surprises no one, Jon has purchased Skyrim yet again (01:05:01), this time for PS5, and is actually diving back in. He and James talk strategy on snagging vouchers for the eShop and Xbox Live, gearing up for their gaming exploits.
After a short break, we return with a task: selecting a game for The Nintendo DS 20th Anniversary Retroactive (01:15:27). We’ve gathered a shortlist of eight games, two picks from each of us. Want to know which game made the cut? You’ll just have to listen.
It’s all about keeping the energy alive!
