Anomaly, the latest addition to the world of extraction shooters from the renowned team behind Swarm, is making its way to Meta Quest this early December.
Crafted by Greensky Games, the creative minds responsible for Swarm and its sequel, Anomaly transports players to a cityscape in 2050 that’s been left in ruins. This intriguing shooter challenges players to navigate through three unique zones, engaging in intense battles against other squads and monstrous foes, all with one goal in mind: to acquire and safely extract a coveted Artifact.
Whether you prefer to tackle the action alone or join forces with up to two friends, Anomaly offers flexible teaming options. The game sticks to the classic rules of extraction shooters: take down rival players, outsmart and outgun AI enemies, gather as much loot as you can, and make it out alive. Remember, if you fall, you risk losing all your hard-earned possessions.
Peter Le Bek, the founder of Greensky Games, shared some insights in a statement, revealing that Anomaly draws heavy inspiration from titles like Escape from Tarkov and Hunt: Showdown.
“With Anomaly, we’re honing in on what makes extraction shooters like Tarkov and Hunt Showdown so compelling,” Le Bek explained. “It’s not just the high-octane action; it’s the immersive atmosphere and the adrenaline rush of a successful escape. Anomaly is designed for VR, elevating each match with a heartbeat of its own, making every breath you take, every step, and every choice filled with a gripping tension that standard games simply can’t replicate.”
For those eager to experience it sooner, a Closed Beta is currently open for sign-ups. Mark your calendars because Anomaly is set to make its grand debut in the Meta Quest Store this December.
