Treyarch recently addressed an issue affecting the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Hit List event where the elimination numbers appeared to be capped incorrectly. Eliminations are central to the Hit List event in Black Ops 6, as they allow players to earn exclusive rewards like a Weapon Charm and a Calling Card. Even though the incorrect display didn’t affect backend progress, Treyarch’s quick action to fix it highlights their commitment to resolving problems promptly.
The much-anticipated Hit List event, which kicked off on November 21 and runs until December 4, encourages players to rack up eliminations across Warzone, Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, and Zombies. By doing so, players collect Skulls, which they can exchange for exciting rewards. In addition to individual rewards, the event also features milestone-based community rewards, capped by the much-sought-after Sirin 9MM Secondary Weapon, which unlocks when players collectively achieve 50 billion eliminations. After a brief investigation into the display issue, Treyarch managed to rectify it, ensuring that these eliminations are accurately reflected.
News of the glitch first surfaced on the CODUpdates Twitter account, noting that even though the in-game display was stuck at 25 billion eliminations, the backend counter functioned correctly. They assured players that this didn’t affect their progress in reaching those massive milestones. Accompanying the announcement, a Black Ops 6 Trello board offered insights into seldom-discussed details, confirming a fix, while also noting other known bugs, such as unintended adjustments to mantling speed, Dark Ops Calling Card display issues, and challenges with melee weapons in custom classes.
Fortunately, Treyarch appears to have implemented the fix swiftly, possibly within mere hours of discovering the problem. Although the in-game counter was frozen at 25 billion, the community’s eliminations have already surpassed that, unlocking certain event rewards like the Hand Cannon Scorestreak and potentially the Veteran Perk. With the event running until early December, there’s optimism that all the Hit List rewards will be unlocked by the event’s end.
This incident seems to have been corrected via a seamless hotfix, as players didn’t receive any updates on their end. Treyarch’s ongoing efforts to update Black Ops 6 suggest that other noted issues will also be patched in due course.
