Intel plans to roll out its "Battlemage" desktop GPUs soon, yet this isn’t the final chapter for their graphics division. The tech giant is poised to reveal its next-gen architectures, "Celestial" and "Druid," as anticipated.
Intel’s Momentum in the GPU Market: A Glimpse into Future Plans
With Intel’s Battlemage set to hit shelves by mid-December, curiosity about their long-term objectives in the desktop GPU arena is growing. This stems largely from Intel’s uneven performance in the GPU sector and previous products that didn’t quite make the cut. However, according to the well-known leaker @jaykihn0, Intel’s upcoming Celestial and Druid GPUs are progressing smoothly.
"Last dGPU?"
Desktop Celestial and Druid are as planned as ever.
I’m afraid you’ve gotten Intel’s commitment to laptop dGPUs and desktop dGPUs mixed up.

In further comments, the leaker highlighted Intel’s intent to maintain consistency with its desktop GPU launches. Additionally, Intel is focusing on enhancing its laptop integrated GPUs to the point where they can rival desktop models, signaling a strategic shift towards prioritizing mobile GPUs while still advancing dedicated desktop GPU products.
Looking ahead, Intel’s Celestial lineup is designed to succeed Battlemage, incorporating the "Xe3" architecture. Details remain scant at the moment, and a similar mystery surrounds the "Druid" series, which will feature the "Xe-Next" architecture and is expected to compete with future-generation counterparts. It’s clear that Intel’s pathway in the desktop GPU field is far from concluded, with much more innovation expected down the line.
Currently, the spotlight is firmly on the forthcoming Intel Arc Battlemage models. Expected to be released soon, these will likely provide insight into how Intel aims to move forward with its desktop GPU strategies.
