Experiencing the unbridled joy of emoting in Fortnite is difficult to beat. Whether you’re busting out the griddy moves as your favorite cartoon character or more recently, grooving to Chappell Roan, emotes are undeniably a significant part of the Fortnite experience. While these expressive animations are here to stay, the developers have added an amusing twist in the all-new Chapter 6 Season 1 map: a particular spot that outright eliminates your character if you emote nearby.
In Chapter 6 Season 1: Hunters, Fortnite introduces a fresh map and a loot pool heavily inspired by Japanese themes. You can battle it out with Godzilla and navigate new areas with wall jumps and ledge grabs like you’re an anime ninja. On top of all that excitement, the developers have sneaked in a sly feature. A location on this map will dramatically punish you for showing off your dance moves.
To find this mischievous spot, make your way to the mountain northwest of Foxy Floodgate. As you make your way halfway down, look for a sign and some traffic barriers near a picturesque overlook. You’ll know you’re in the right spot because a sprite shrine is nearby. The sign clearly depicts a silhouette of a Fortnite character dancing with a red line through it. If you dare to emote here, your character gets hilariously launched into oblivion. A video below showcases this in full swing.
Despite all the changes, Fortnite retains its charmingly wacky essence. I still find it amusing that characters from series like Dragon Ball and Avatar: The Last Airbender sport Nikes in the game. It’s delightful to see humorous elements like this continue to make Fortnite an endlessly entertaining space.
