We’ve been thrilled to witness the surge in player support and engagement with the Xbox app on Windows PC over the past year. Now, we’re excited to announce that the new Home experience, which has been in testing with Xbox Insiders, is officially rolled out for every player using the Xbox app on Windows. This enhancement promises an easier and quicker way for users to access their beloved games and discover fresh ones worth trying.
The Home section is now brimming with featured content, ensuring players remain in the loop about the latest game releases, upcoming events, Game Pass content, special sales, and more. You’ll find new curated collections, tailored recommendations, and enticing deals. Plus, with the handy ‘Jump back in’ feature, players in Compact Mode can effortlessly click on any game card to jump straight back into action from the game’s hub.
While Game Pass remains a popular choice for seeking and launching fantastic titles, the Xbox app is evolving into an excellent platform for uncovering awesome Xbox games that might not be part of the Game Pass library.
Earlier this year, we started collaborating with partners to include all PC games featuring Xbox capabilities into our Xbox app. We’re genuinely excited to see the array of Xbox games that will grace Windows PCs in the coming months and are delighted to welcome nearly 400 titles that were previously off the map in the Xbox app’s universe.
This newly expanded list boasts an array of titles from esteemed Japanese developers like Kemco and Kairosoft, along with popular games such as Shovel Knight Treasure Trove by Yacht Club, the entertaining Jackbox Party Pack, and The Invincible by Double 11, to name just a few.
Moreover, over 100 of these new titles offer Xbox Play Anywhere functionality. This means if you purchase an Xbox console version, you’re free to enjoy the Xbox PC version too—and the reverse is also true! Features like universal Xbox ownership, seamless cloud saves, and cross-play between Xbox versions on console, PC, and even other platforms (at the developer’s discretion) are highly favored by players.
With the expansion of Windows handheld gaming devices, it provides developers with fantastic opportunities to connect with gamers, allowing them to play their preferred games with friends anywhere they choose.
