Xbox enthusiasts, here’s some exciting news: a fresh update now allows Insiders to stream games they own on their consoles using Xbox Cloud Gaming, alongside top-tier Game Pass titles. While the selection of compatible games hasn’t expanded, those with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions can now dive into streaming certain games directly on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles.
Microsoft Enhances Xbox Cloud Gaming Experience for Insiders
For those in the alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha preview groups, streaming is now available for 50 games not included in Game Pass, thanks to Xbox Cloud Gaming. According to a recent post on Xbox Wire, users within these groups and with an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription can stream games on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, as well as on PCs, smartphones, and tablets across 28 countries. Initially, console streaming wasn’t anticipated until the next year, making this update a pleasant surprise. If you’re part of the test, you’ll spot a cloud gaming badge on compatible games in your Xbox library, and you can filter what’s ready to play via cloud gaming.
Microsoft mentions that in the future, users will be able to launch directly from the Store app and stream through the Xbox app on Windows PC.
When the feature debuted last month, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers gained the ability to stream select owned games through web browsers. Among the currently supported 50 titles are blockbusters such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
We’re eagerly awaiting a broader rollout of this feature to all players, possibly in 2025. What about you? Are you excited to stream your favorite Xbox Series X|S games using Xbox Cloud Gaming? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
