Dark Passenger, a gaming development studio out of Poland, recently sealed a deal for $3 million in funding. The team, which includes veterans from CD Projekt, caught the eye of tech investors, with The Games Fund leading the charge and Blite Fund also getting involved. This influx of support is earmarked for their debut creation, a third-person multiplayer stealth action game that immerses players in the rich world of feudal Japan.
Jakub Ben, CEO of Dark Passenger, expressed his enthusiasm, “The current multiplayer scene is buzzing with excitement, yet it’s clear there’s still so much untapped potential,” he remarked. “We need imagination, trust, and vision to fully grasp where we’re heading, and these elements perfectly align with what The Games Fund offers us.”
Ben continued, “Receiving this investment is transformative for us—it has enabled us to grow our team and lay a strong foundation for our project, allowing us to focus intently on developing the game.”
On the investor side, Ilia Eremeev, co-founder of The Games Fund, shared insights about their decision to back Dark Passenger: “There’s a lack of games daring enough to push boundaries and deliver experiences that players really yearn for—those moments that make you go: ‘Hell yeah!’ The moment we got a taste of their early demo, it was clear that Dark Passenger was poised to offer just that.”
Eremeev was notably impressed by what the team achieved, saying, “The quality of their work, considering the size and timeline of the team, was absolutely astounding. Our vision aligned immediately with theirs: an exhilarating, pure power fantasy. We couldn’t be more excited to join forces with these incredible founders on this journey.”
