When Survios launched their much-anticipated horror-shooter, Alien: Rogue Incursion (2024), last week, fans weren’t quite expecting it to come with a ‘Part One’ tag. This unexpected detail left many wondering if they were getting only a portion of the full game. But, as it turns out, there’s more to the story than just a single release.
Upon its release on PC VR and PSVR 2, the ‘Part One’ label sparked curiosity among players. Were they about to experience a complete game, or was it being split into episodes? In our comprehensive review, which scored the game at a commendable 7 out of 10, we found that it delivers a robust eight-hour adventure. The game impresses with its immersive settings and adrenaline-pumping confrontations with packs of Xenomorphs reminiscent of raptors. However, this thrill was slightly dampened by repetitive enemies and a challenging save system.
Responding to the buzz, Survios clarified via a post on X that the ‘Part One’ label wasn’t meant to confuse or imply that they were breaking the game into sections. While this standalone experience does reach its climax with a cliffhanger, it’s designed as the first chapter in a two-part narrative.
Adding to the excitement, Survios confirmed that Part Two is already being crafted. They teased that players could expect it to feature “deadlier enemies and more difficult challenges,” which certainly has our anticipation levels high.
While the community eagerly awaits these developments, we’re also keen on seeing how the game performs on the Quest platform when it lands on Quest 3/3S on February 13th, 2025. As noted in our review, the game boasts dynamically loading levels, detailed textures, and extensive physics-based interactions. These are likely factors that contributed to the delayed release for the Quest.
