OneXPlayer has just stirred up excitement in the gaming world with a teaser video on YouTube introducing their forthcoming handheld gaming device, the Onexfly F1 Pro. This compact powerhouse is set to feature AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, part of the innovative Ryzen AI 300 series, also known by the codename Strix Point. The Onexfly F1 Pro boasts a 7-inch display, and it was seen in the teaser smoothly running Black Myth: Wukong at frame rates ranging from 50 to 60 FPS.
This cutting-edge gadget is equipped with a dazzling 7-inch OLED display that supports HDR and offers a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Weighing in at 598 grams, it comes with premium Harman Kardon speakers. But its standout feature is the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU, which packs four Zen 5 cores, eight Zen 5c cores, and AMD’s state-of-the-art Radeon 890M iGPU, built on RDNA 3.5 architecture. With such impressive specs, the Onexfly F1 Pro stacks up against formidable competitors like the Steam Deck OLED, ROG Ally X, and Lenovo Legion Go.
In their demonstration, OneXPlayer showcased the Onexfly F1 Pro running the Black Myth: Wukong benchmark. The device was tested at 1080p resolution with low-quality settings, utilizing 65% upscaling, which translates to an effective internal rendering resolution of 1248 x 702. During these conditions, the handheld achieved an average of 58 FPS, all while keeping its power consumption restricted to just 15W.
Importantly, the Onexfly F1 Pro marks OneXPlayer’s debut in combining an OLED screen with AMD’s latest Zen 5-based mobile processors. Their existing line-up predominantly features either Intel or earlier AMD CPUs paired with non-OLED displays. Beyond this, it positions itself as one of the pioneering handhelds powered by Zen 5 architecture to reach consumers, with its only known competition being the GPT Pocket 4, also boasting the Ryzen AI HX 370.
While the GPT Pocket 4 presents itself as a multifaceted 2-in-1 device, complete with a keyboard and a rotating screen, the F1 Pro is a true gaming handheld, offering traditional grips and controls for a more immersive gaming experience.
OneXPlayer’s video sets a captivating stage for the capabilities of the AI 9 HX 370, revealing its suitability for portable gaming devices while efficiently managing power consumption, which can enhance battery life for those intense gaming sessions. As AMD has not yet released their next wave of handheld-focused Z-series CPUs, manufacturers in the handheld segment rely heavily on AMD’s Ryzen AI 300 series designed for laptops.
