The "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate European Online Challenge: Winter Clash 2024" is an exciting online event hosted through the popular Nintendo Switch title, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Organized by Nintendo of Europe SE, located in Frankfurt, Germany, this competition promises a thrilling experience for gamers across Europe.
When and Where?
Mark your calendars for Friday, December 6th, when the challenge kicks off from 18:00 to 20:00 CET, or 17:00 to 19:00 if you’re in the UK. Players from a wide range of European countries, including Austria, Belgium, and the UK, among others, are invited to dive into the competition. However, it’s worth noting that players from areas far from central Europe, like the Azores and Svalbard, might not be eligible to join due to gameplay quality concerns.
How to Join?
Joining the competition is fairly straightforward. You’ll need a Nintendo Account set to one of the eligible countries with an active Nintendo Switch Online membership, be it paid or a free trial. Make sure you have access to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on your Nintendo Switch, as you’ll need to complete at least one tourney match in the game. To access the tourney, simply hop into the main menu, click on "Online," and then "Official Tourney Qualifiers."
Chasing the Tourney Score
In these exclusive events, participants are vying for the highest Tourney score, which reflects your skills against others. The score considers not only your win-loss record but also the Tourney scores of the opponents you face. You can check your score anytime during the event via the game. The ability to play as many matches as you like is an exciting feature, giving ample opportunity to boost your score. Any match that begins during the event timeline will count toward your score, even if it wraps up after the event window closes.
Rewards for the Top Players
The 10 players who secure the highest scores will each be rewarded with 2,500 My Nintendo Gold Points. For those placing in the top 100, a prize of 1,000 Gold Points awaits. Changing your country setting outside the eligible regions during the event or prize distribution phase will result in disqualification. Additionally, cheating or exploiting bugs, as outlined in Nintendo’s Code of Conduct, could lead to disqualification or more severe account penalties. Prizes are strictly non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other rewards.
Prize Delivery
Expect your prizes to be credited to your Nintendo Account within two weeks after the event ends. To verify your Gold Points, simply check the My Nintendo Point Log after logging in.
