Game Source Entertainment and Tokyo Virtual Theory (TVT) are bringing their latest creation, the rhythm roguelike action game Ratatan, to the Nintendo Switch.
Drawing inspiration from the much-loved game Patapon by Japan Studio and Pyramid, Ratatan whisks players away to the vibrant island of Rataport. This lively place stands in stark contrast to the calm, expansive sea surrounding it. Here, players will encounter Ratatan, a unique, animal-like creature, who shares this bustling island world with a group of friends known as the Cobun.
Each of these characters has its own distinct look and personality, yet they’re united by a singular dream: to journey to The Everafter and encounter The Goddess believed to reside there. Though they face numerous setbacks, their determination to meet her remains unwavering.
The game’s development benefits from the collaboration with Hiroyuki Kotani, the renowned producer of the Patapon series. Players take on the role of Ratatan, employing magical instruments in time with the music to orchestrate commands for the Cobun armies, directing them to fend off foes. Perfectly timed beats trigger the dynamic Fever Mode, where the background music evolves and characters display unique actions.
Ratatan is slated for a digital release on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch in 2025, accessible to players worldwide.
