In Marvel Rivals, there’s a nifty trick known as Recursive Destruction that lets you restore terrain and objects back to their original state, adding a unique twist to the game.
This feature is exclusive to the Midtown map and plays a crucial role in completing a mission for the Midnight Features seasonal event. Given that it’s a fresh addition to the game, figuring out how to activate it can be a bit tricky, but don’t worry—we’re here to guide you through the process.
So, how do you set off Recursive Destruction in Marvel Rivals? Let’s dive right in.
You’ll need to jump into the Midtown map, which is accessible only in quick match mode. There’s a limited-time mode focused solely on Midtown, so if you’re eager to tick off that Recursive Destruction mission, be sure to opt for this map!
Once you’re in Midtown, make use of your trusty Chrono Vision. For PC users, this is mapped to the B key, while console players can find it on the right d-pad. Typically, destructible walls and items show up in yellow, but on Midtown, you’ll notice terrain glowing red.
To get Recursive Destruction going, you have to inflict damage on those red-highlighted objects. When you’ve dished out enough damage, the terrain will magically restore itself, thanks to the Recursive Destruction feature.
You’ll want to look out for two specific spots on Midtown where Recursive Destruction can be triggered. Just remember, you can only activate it at these locations after reaching the specific checkpoints. Trying to damage the objects beforehand won’t do any good, so make sure to move the convoy to these checkpoint areas first!
