The modding scene for Helldivers 2 is bursting with creativity right now. If you’re a fan of games like Crazy Taxi or Halo 3: ODST, you’re in for a treat. Recently, the first-ever full-fledged “Warbond” mod has been released for Helldivers 2, and it’s turning heads.
Let’s get one thing clear before diving deeper: this mod is more of a Warbond-like experience. It may not have every feature that Arrowhead’s official Warbonds boast, but if you’re interested in experimenting with new armor, this mod has got you covered.
The creator, a modder who goes by Jayypino, has titled this creation ‘Dogmatic Reach,’ and the name will soon make sense to you. The mod introduces several new armor sets and helmets that combine elements from Helldivers 2 and Halo 3: ODST. This means you’ll be sporting a Spartan-like look, but not in the jarring way that dressing like Master Chief might present. Jayypino describes it as “different, but familiar,” with “custom textures that align nicely with vanilla armors.”
Each new armor set, which replaces existing in-game options, offers alternative paint jobs. These include intimidating details like teeth on your helmet and a blue color scheme that pairs well with another Warbond-style mod by Jayypino called ‘SEAF Specialists,’ created by The Grave Situation Team.
To try out these three new armor sets—Chimera, Hydra, and Cyclops—you’ll need to download the latest version of Teutinsa’s ‘HD2 Mod Manager.’ Get ready to say “Halo” to this exciting addition!
And that’s not the only buzz in the HD2 community lately. A dataminer recently claimed to have unintentionally activated some kind of “Illuminate Aurora Borealis” while tinkering around with obelisks. Plus, a talented artist has put together a 14-page concept showcasing what an indoor dungeon mission could look like. Exciting times in the Helldivers world!
