Pocketpair has rolled out a fresh update for Palworld, the hit survival game available through early access. Since its debut in early 2024 on Steam and Xbox, the game has rapidly gained a following, surprising many with its swift rise in popularity. Even though it’s in early access, Palworld didn’t take long to join the ranks of top releases for the year. PlayStation 5 users can now also dive into this popular game and see for themselves what the excitement is all about.
Despite its success, Palworld has not dodged controversy. From its launch, players noted the resemblances of some Pals to Pokémon. This similarity did not go unnoticed by Nintendo, leading to legal action due to similarities in mechanics like ball throwing. This prompted changes in how Pals are summoned within the game, a shift that wasn’t universally appreciated. However, Pocketpair remains undeterred, pushing forward with regular, substantial updates to enhance the game.
Following its initial launch, Palworld received two major content updates. First came the Sakurajima update, introducing a new island and additional Pals. Next up was the more expansive Feybreak update that built significantly on those foundations. Pocketpair’s dedication is palpable as they continue to refine the game, with the release of version v0.4.13 focusing on bug fixes rather than new content.
The latest patch, v0.4.13, brings a noticeable improvement to the turning speeds of Xenolord and Frostallion while airborne. Additionally, the drop rate for legendary blueprints from the chests aboard the Large Oil Rig has been enhanced, with the removal of less valuable blueprints. Several bugs, including ones causing players to fall through terrain, Pals to halt power generation, and stationary tower bosses, have also been addressed.
New adjustments improve gameplay: for instance, Pals will now automatically return to players if they stray too far during combat, and they’ll stay put even if you’re aiming in their direction. With many glitches ironed out, players can expect an improved gameplay experience. And, as Palworld continues its journey towards its full release, more updates are anticipated.
