Winking Studios, a well-known Asian triple-A outsourcing company, has made headlines with its acquisition of China’s Mineloader. This significant deal, valued at £16.3 million (around $19.87 million), involves an initial payment of $14.7 million, with the remaining amount dependent on Mineloader achieving certain performance milestones over the next five years.
Founded back in 2003, Mineloader has carved out a strong reputation as an art outsourcing developer. Johnny Jan, the CEO and founder of Winking Studios, shared his thoughts on this landmark acquisition, stating, “This is our largest acquisition so far and it marks a key step that strengthens our standing in the global video games industry. It opens up new avenues for growth and innovation.”
He went on to highlight the vital role of game art in development, describing it as the visual and creative heartbeat that captures players’ imaginations and enriches their gaming experience. By bringing Mineloader and its team of over 460 skilled employees into the fold, alongside Winking Studios’ existing workforce of more than 800, the company intends to enhance its service offerings and expand its client base. Additionally, Johnny emphasized the strategic advantage Mineloader brings with its established presence in the Japanese market, further enriching Winking Studios’ business networks.
