Have you ever pondered which Marvel character would reign supreme in Rocket League? Marvel Rivals’ latest event offers a playful twist to help you explore that curiosity. This hero shooter is launching a brand-new limited-time mode as part of the newly announced Marvel Rivals Spring Festival event, drawing some clear inspiration from the popular vehicular soccer game. As you dive into the event, you can snag yourself a free skin, aim for new Gallery Cards, and delve into more exciting content.
Just after wrapping up its Winter Celebration Event—which was a delightful surprise for Jeff the Land Shark fans—Marvel Rivals is gearing up to celebrate the Spring Festival in conjunction with the Lunar New Year. While the timing isn’t exactly a shocker, what might catch you by surprise is the introduction of a new Limited Time Mode in this free Steam game.
Taking cues from what I consider one of the most addictively engaging multiplayer games around, the new Clash of Dancing Lions mode channels the energetic vibe of Rocket League. This mode sees two teams of three heroes each battling it out on a small, fully enclosed soccer pitch. The goal? Score more than your rivals by getting the ball into their goal zone. To do so, you’ll need to outsmart opponents by passing the ball between your teammates and reclaiming possession through tactical tackles.
NetEase clearly enjoys paying homage to popular multiplayer games through its Limited Time Modes. First, it was the Jeff-themed Winter Celebration mode, a nod to Splatoon. And now, Rocket League gets a similar tribute with this latest endeavor.
During this event, players can snag a free Star-Lord skin, while characters like Black Widow and Iron Fist will don Lunar New Year-themed outfits available for purchase in the store. There’s a treasure trove of other cosmetics waiting to be claimed throughout the event, though we’re still on the edge of our seats for the full list of offerings.
For collectors out there, the event won’t disappoint. Dive into a new Gallery Card customization event titled Fortune and Colors, perfect for completing those in-game comics during the Winter Festival.
Mark your calendars because the Marvel Rivals Spring Festival event kicks off on Thursday, January 23, at 1 am PST / 4 am EST / 9 am GMT / 10 am CET.
