Intel’s XeSS technology has now found its way into more than 150 games, with efforts underway to introduce XeSS 2 to an even broader audience. This expansion marks a significant step forward for Intel, which originally debuted this super-sampling technique with its Arc Alchemist series. Although it’s been over two years since XeSS hit the scene, the technology continues to evolve, with XeSS 2 poised to usher in the next phase of gaming enhancement.
While XeSS 2 is still in its early days, the initial version, XeSS 1.0, has been successfully integrated into a growing list of games. Intel recently celebrated this milestone, proudly announcing the impressive number of supported titles, and teased that more are on the horizon.
For gamers eager to see which of their favorite titles have been upgraded with XeSS, there’s a list of compatible games, boasting several major AAA franchises. However, when compared to the likes of AMD’s FSR and NVIDIA’s DLSS, XeSS still has some ground to cover.
Intel’s gaming division took to social media to share the news, playfully urging gamers to experience the benefits of XeSS AI upscaling for themselves. Their tweet underlined the excitement bubbling around this technological advance.
Despite this progress, Intel acknowledges there’s still a journey ahead to match its competitors in the market. Most of the current XeSS support lies with version 1, with the newer XeSS 2 only available in a couple of games, such as F1 2024 and Marvel Rivals. Yet, anticipation is building, with titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Killing Floor 3 set to embrace XeSS 2 soon.
Additionally, some games now feature Intel’s XeSS Frame Generation, though it’s not as widespread as its FSR and DLSS counterparts. It’s important to note that XeSS 2 and Frame Generation are exclusive to Intel’s Arc Battlemage GPUs, of which only the Arc B580 and Arc B570 are available—though with limited availability.
Intel remains optimistic about its advancement in the gaming landscape, determined to evolve and attract more developers to its burgeoning ecosystem.
