As you might already know, Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii features a quirky little sub-story where you, as Goro Majima, have the unique task of collecting seven golden balls. Yes, you read that right—these are not metaphorical “golden balls” but actual shiny, precious ones scattered throughout your adventures in various ports. It’s a fun throwback to what you might have done in Like A Dragon: Gaiden. Some players faced a pesky bug that made gathering all of them a near-impossible quest, but thankfully, that’s been sorted out. So, please, put away your rotten tomatoes, and let’s not unleash the wrath of Kiryu.
This bug fix has been rolled out as part of the latest update, patch 1.12, which dropped today, March 7. The release notes briefly state, “Fixed an issue where the golden ball could not be obtained.” Mysterious, isn’t it? Which one of these elusive treasures was the issue, and what caused it to be out of reach? Was it swiped by some rogue pirate reminiscent of the old Tojo Clan? Guess that’s a mystery we’ll have to live with. The main thing, though, is that the balls are back—as if Thin Lizzy’s wild-eyed creations had just returned—and that’s the part that counts.
The update has a bunch of other fixes across platforms:
1. Resolved an issue preventing manual saving.
2. Fixed an amusing bug that would drop players into the sea when loading a save under certain conditions on a ship.
3. Addressed a hiccup where arcade game scores wouldn’t save.
4. Tidied up typographical errors and improved localization.
5. A slew of other tweaks to enhance overall stability and quality.
For those of you on PC, there are some specific updates too—like the upgrade to Intel XeSS 2.0.1 and a patch for a rare crash issue during resource loading. If you’re dealing with random crashes on certain NVIDIA GPUs, RGG suggests you cap your FPS at 60 in the settings to keep things running smoothly.
