According to recent updates, NVIDIA has informed its board partners about a delay in the launch of the RTX 5060 series GPUs. Both models are now expected to hit the market a few weeks later than originally planned.
GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Delay; Now Eyeing an April Release, Followed by the RTX 5060 in May
As the buzz around the upcoming GeForce RTX 5070 continues to grow, news has emerged about setbacks for the RTX 5060 series. Initially, there were whispers of a March release for the RTX 5060, with availability kicking off in April. However, the latest reports indicate that this timeline has been pushed even further.
While the exact reasons remain a bit murky, it’s confirmed by Board Channels that NVIDIA has alerted all of its board partners about this change. Though not made official by NVIDIA yet, the likelihood of accuracy in this report remains high. Previously, speculations included bugs and supply chain hiccups as potential culprits for the delay, but NVIDIA hasn’t officially confirmed these issues.
NVIDIA has internally communicated with all AIC partners via email about the new launch dates for the RTX 5060 Ti / 5060 series. Brands have been told to expect delays for these GPUs. Furthermore, the release of the RTX 5060 Ti 16G / 8G models is anticipated for mid-April, with the RTX 5060 series following in mid-May. The precise dates are still forthcoming.

Now, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is tentatively scheduled for a ‘mid-April’ release, with the RTX 5060 trailing a month later in ‘mid-May.’ It seems both variants of the RTX 5060 Ti will be rolled out together. However, NVIDIA hasn’t pinned down specific launch dates to its partners yet.
Interestingly, the anticipated launch of the RTX 5060 series might align with AMD’s release of their RX 9060 series GPUs. This lineup includes the RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 cards, available in 8 GB and 16 GB editions, positioning them as direct competitors to NVIDIA’s 8 GB and 16 GB RTX 5060 Ti cards. Although specific launch dates for the RX 9060 series remain under wraps, there’s chatter about a second-quarter release.
The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is set to succeed the RTX 4060 Ti, boasting 4608 CUDA Cores, 8/16 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a power consumption of 180W TDP. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 is poised to take over from the RTX 4060, featuring 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 150W. There’s even been a recent leak suggesting an RTX 5060 variant with 12 GB VRAM, although this hasn’t been confirmed as official yet. If true, it could give NVIDIA an upper hand over the RX 9060, as AMD’s offering is said to only include an 8 GB variant.
