It looks like we might soon see a movie adaptation of the newly released game, Split Fiction. Variety has reported that Story Kitchen is the driving force behind assembling the cast, writers, and director for the project. This company has experience with such adaptations, as they’ve been involved in bringing Hazelight’s earlier game, It Takes Two, to life through an Amazon production. They’ve also tackled projects based on Toejam and Earl, Slime Rancher, and Vampire Survivors.
Various top Hollywood studios are apparently showing a keen interest, with offers flooding in from all sides.
Split Fiction made its debut in March and had an incredible start, selling a million copies within the first 48 hours. By the end of its first week, the game had doubled that figure.
“Wow, we’re absolutely amazed! It’s just incredible,” Hazelight expressed in a message on Bluesky, celebrating this impressive achievement. “A huge thank you to all our fans, both new and old—your enthusiasm for our game means the world to us.”
The film adaptation of It Takes Two, on the other hand, has already caught significant attention with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson involved. Plus, the writing is being tackled by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, the talents behind Sonic the Hedgehog.
