As of April 16, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers have gained access to Microsoft’s exciting “Stream Your Own Game” feature, which has finally stepped out of its exclusive beta testing phase. This perk gives members the power to stream and play Xbox titles they own directly on supported devices through Xbox Cloud Gaming, broadening gaming horizons beyond the titles included in Game Pass.
Originally introduced in November 2024 for Game Pass Ultimate users involved in the Xbox Insiders testing program, Stream Your Own Game grants the ability to stream games they have purchased, even if they aren’t part of the Xbox Game Pass catalogue. In December 2024, this initiative extended its reach to include Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles, although it remained a privilege for Xbox Insiders within the Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead rings. Now, it supports a variety of devices such as Windows PCs, VR headsets, Amazon Fire TVs, and even compatible iOS and Android smartphones.
More games, like The First Berserker: Khazan, keep enriching the Stream Your Own Game lineup, making it easier for Xbox users to play on desired gadgets. According to VGC, from April 16 onward, every Game Pass Ultimate subscriber can leverage this feature. With Stream Your Own Game now a standard perk, gamers can purchase and stream select titles without owning the latest Xbox Series X/S. This means they can use their Xbox One system or other devices while also conserving storage space. The cost of an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription stands at $19.99 monthly.
The subscription doesn’t just stop there; it also opens the door to a library of downloadable Xbox and PC games and grants Day One access to various titles from Xbox Game Studios. Moreover, Stream Your Own Game showcases offerings from renowned third-party studios like Square Enix and diverse indie creators. Now accessible to all Game Pass Ultimate members, the tool allows graphically demanding titles such as Final Fantasy 14, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Cyberpunk 2077 to be streamed on Xbox One consoles or through web browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
However, a stable internet connection is crucial for Xbox Cloud Gaming and Stream Your Own Game, with at least 20 Mbps for Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi needed. Present figures indicate that 125 Xbox games currently utilize this feature, with more titles anticipated for release in the upcoming months of May and June.
Meanwhile, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate remains a shining star within Microsoft’s gaming services, offering extensive value with access to a plethora of over 100 games all at one go, making it a standout component of the Xbox ecosystem.
