Kluge Interactive, the talented team behind the popular VR rhythm game Synth Riders, has exciting news. They’re releasing their new VR fighting game, FINAL FURY, in early access for Quest and SteamVR headsets next month.
Set to launch on May 8th for Quest 2 and higher, as well as PC VR headsets, Final Fury offers a fresh take on arcade-style fighting. The game brings classic one-on-one battles to VR, featuring a unique gameplay system driven by gestures.
With insights from nine-time EVO champion Justin Wong, this early access version combines hand gestures and room-scale movement, allowing players to embody six distinct fighters. Each character has unique moves and arenas, with more content slated for release post-launch.
“When Kluge Interactive approached me with their vision for FINAL FURY, I was immediately intrigued by their idea of blending classic fighting game mechanics with VR,” Wong shared. “I’ve provided feedback on things like dashes, grabs, and character styles, and I can’t wait to see how players engage with the game when it hits Early Access.”
At launch, players can look forward to:
- You are the Fighter! – Dive into immersive VR combat, complete with real punching, dodging, and blocking.
- Innovative VR Combat – Experience nostalgic fighter mechanics reimagined for a physically engaging experience.
- Expanding Roster – Start with six fighters, each featuring unique powers, arenas, and styles, with more to come.
- Arcade Mode Unlocks – Challenge AI opponents to unlock new fighters, stages, and cosmetic items.
- Online Multiplayer – Enjoy cross-platform play with rollback netcode for a smooth and competitive experience.
- Pulse-Pounding OST – Groove to an original soundtrack from Zardonic, known for works like SUPERHOT: MCD.
Final Fury will be available for wishlisting on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and higher, as well as on Steam for PC VR headsets. Mark your calendars for May 8th, and get ready to dive in for just $9.99.
