Respawn Entertainment has just dropped a new update for Apex Legends, stirring up the playing field with some intriguing adjustments to both Legends and weapons. Following the mid-season patch for Season 24 on March 25, the developers are keen on keeping the gameplay balanced with this fresh set of tweaks.
Over the past few seasons, Apex Legends has undergone a transformative journey. While no new Legends have stepped onto the scene since Alter arrived in Season 21, Respawn has been busy overhauling different classes. The most recent mid-season revamp focused on Skirmishers, enhancing their abilities for those who thrive in high-mobility roles. This time around, Respawn is rolling out a series of balance updates yet again.
As part of the latest changes, the abilities of Mirage, Ash, Seer, and Conduit have been fine-tuned. Ash’s teleportation ability, Phase Breach, now requires more time to hit both its maximum distance of 2.5 seconds and its shortest range at 0.5 seconds. This tweak slows Ash’s capacity to traverse the map, providing rival teams with a bit more breathing room.
Mirage, on the other hand, enjoys a significant boost this round. He now conjures six decoys with his Ultimate, up from the previous five. Meanwhile, Conduit’s Tactical skill enhances health regeneration to four shields per tick. Seer also sees some tweaks, shaving down the time it takes for his Tactical to reach targets to 0.8 seconds, and speeding up his skill completion from 0.9 to 1.0 seconds.
But the adjustments don’t stop at the Legends. Respawn has also turned their attention to the arsenal in Apex Legends. The Hemlock, for instance, has received enhancements with a slight bump in headshot damage and a more generous magazine size. SMGs have also seen their headshot damage tick up by one point. Not every adjustment is a buff, though. The P2020’s damage was nudged down to 24, while the L-Star now faces stiffer recoil and a smaller projectile size. Not to mention, the Accelerated Weapons have their ultimate gains clipped to 20% from the previous 30%.
The impact of these changes on the game’s meta remains to be seen, but they are set to address ongoing player feedback. While this update may not bring monumental changes akin to the mid-season overhaul, it strives to fine-tune the competitive landscape of Apex Legends.
