Last week, the newly launched Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl took the top spot as the highest-grossing game on Steam. Released on November 20th, the game has already surpassed a million copies sold. This figure doesn’t even count the players diving into the intense survival shooter through Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass. Such success is undoubtedly a triumph for the team at GSC Game World, especially considering they brought Stalker 2 to completion amidst the chaos of a warzone.
In a surprising turn, Heart of Chornobyl managed to edge out Counter-Strike 2, pushing it to second place. Meanwhile, Valve’s Steam Deck climbed two places to third, fueled by the release of a special limited edition white version of the console that hit the market on November 18th and quickly sold out.
Both PUBG: Battlegrounds and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 slipped one spot to land at fourth and fifth, respectively. On the other hand, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 made its debut in sixth place, holding strong despite a wave of technical glitches widely reported by players.
Anticipation for the Early Access RPG, Path of Exile, has already heated up the charts to take seventh place before its December release. This achievement is largely due to the Supporter Packs that offer players early game access.
Amazon and NCSoft’s Throne and Liberty climbed two spots to secure eighth place, just ahead of EA Sports FC 25, which settled into ninth. Finally, rounding out the list at number ten is Dota 2.
