Hello, Xbox fans! We’re excited to share some big news—our brand new game, Overthrown, is landing on Xbox Game Preview for Xbox Series X|S and PC on December 5th. And yes, it’s part of Game Pass! For anyone spotting Overthrown for the first time, it’s not just your usual city builder—this game is steeped in chaos and designed to let you and up to five friends roam around like anime superheroes. Of course, city-building, defending it against mutants and bandits, and efficient management are still at its core. Today, let’s dive into ways to enhance your co-op experience and really make things fun.
First, a little backdrop. You’re wielding an ancient, mystical crown with soul-stealing powers, and this grants you incredible abilities. Think you can’t handle massive trees or monster hideouts? Think again. You can literally lift a sawmill and gather your trees as you sprint through a forest. Your powers don’t stop there, with supersonic speeds, historic throws, and whirlwind spins that’ll send you skybound. Just picture having all this excitement with five of your buddies—imagine the mischief!
To jumpstart your gameplay, here are some tips to make your co-op sessions unbeatable.
One Crown to Rule Them All
In co-op mode, the magical Crown’s up for grabs on the map, so make it a priority. While every player gains the Crown’s abilities, whoever wears it benefits from a larger energy reserve, allowing for more frequent awesome moves. You’re working as a team but let’s face it, being the best team player has its perks! If the Crown gets snatched by a Tuskar or an Outlaw, the race is on to take it back, and the victor gets a power boost. Remember, Overthrown doesn’t involve PvP; taking out your friend for the Crown isn’t an option.
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Next, the more workstations you create, the more citizens hustle into your settlement. With friends, you can assign folks to different zones, speeding up citizen growth from the start. And don’t worry about mismatched interests—maybe you’re into constructing and your pal prefers battling. The key is dividing chores effectively among your crew.
Experiment
Finally, embrace experimentation. Overthrown is fueled by curiosity. We built it hoping players would constantly wonder, "Can I do this?" and "What happens if I try that?" And the answer: absolutely, go for it! We aim to pack the game with interactivity, so you’re always uncovering surprises, laughter, and moments of sheer fun with friends—that’s what multiplayer is all about!
We’re eager for you to dive into Overthrown, whether solo or with friends. As a Game Preview, your feedback becomes part of its growth, and we’re thrilled to have you along for the ride. Begin your adventure on December 5th, when Overthrown becomes available on Xbox Game Preview and Game Pass for Xbox consoles and PC.
Note: We initially mentioned that Overthrown would launch on December 10th—please note the correct date is December 5th.
