FragPunk takes the stage as an engaging 5v5 tactical hero shooter, introducing players to an impressive lineup of 13 distinct characters, aptly named Lancers. These Lancers aren’t just your average combatants; they’re armed with at least three remarkable abilities each. Whether you’re into sliding around with a unique electric guitar-turned-shotgun, teleporting your team to navigate the map swiftly, or healing comrades after a high-stakes battle, there’s a Lancer tailored to your playstyle.
Currently, FragPunk boasts a fairly balanced selection of heroes. Players who skillfully exploit a character’s strengths while mitigating their weaknesses can excel in most scenarios. However, it doesn’t mean all Lancers are equal. Some become key assets on either Attack or Defense, or shine within particular team compositions and with certain Shard Cards. Yet, a few Lancers stand out for their unwavering value across different situations.
It’s crucial to pinpoint the best characters within the current meta of FragPunk, mainly because many Lancers need to be unlocked using Gold, FragPunk Coins, or Lancer Trophies. To help you make the best investment, this FragPunk tier list ranks every Lancer from S to B tier, factoring in their ease of use, versatility, and consistent performance.
FragPunk Tier List
- S-Tier Characters: Nitro, Hollowpoint, Pathojen, Spider, Kismet
- A-Tier Characters: Serket, Broker, Zephyr, Sonar, Corona
- B-Tier Characters: Jaguar, Axon, Chum
S-Tier: Nitro
Nitro is limited only by a player’s creativity. With her Chug Chug ability, she deploys a combat drone capable of inflicting significant damage and gathering intel while staying safe. The Wall, Nitro’s ability, creates unique vantage points, allowing you to control sightlines and shield yourself, while Mr. Pewpew turrets provide critical defense or a distraction to set up your own attack.
On defense, Nitro is nearly indispensable. She may not be the top pick for offense, but her versatility ensures she remains a valuable asset.
S-Tier: Hollowpoint
Hollowpoint is a sniper’s dream. Her Meteora railgun can take out enemies with precision, providing great reconnaissance by detecting foes within its sight. This weapon doubles as an invaluable second primary, rising above the limits imposed typically by the Shard Clash rule. Meanwhile, her Smoke Screen and Paparazzi abilities ensure vision control and enemy tracking.
Hollowpoint’s prowess on offense and defense is only truly challenged by a well-coordinated opposition.
S-Tier: Pathojen
Pathojen’s kit revolves around offering consistent support with her AOE healing field, the sole healing ability in FragPunk. Her Shroom Wall provides a tactical defensive edge, while Killer Queen traps disrupt enemy plans, making her a crucial pick to counter opponents’ sustain efforts.
Mirroring the enemy’s Pathojen can be a strategic move given the Chemical Romance passive, which grants immunity to poison damage.
S-Tier: Spider
Spider’s true strength lies in his team’s coordination. His Teleporter ability opens up possibilities for creative plays and rapid repositioning. Spirited Away and Spider Traps add layers of strategy, allowing Spider to become a linchpin when working with a communicative team.
Solo players might struggle to unlock Spider’s full potential, but he shines within a coordinated attack squad.
S-Tier: Kismet
Kismet excels offensively, thanks to her Walk on the Wild Side ability, offering both invisibility and invulnerability. Though she remains blind during the ability, its versatility opens avenues for creative maneuvers. Her toolkit is further expanded with wall-penetrating scans and lethal Misery Angel attacks.
A-Tier: Serket
Serket brings a versatile offensive approach, packing teleportation, intel gathering, and area crowd control. Although her abilities such as Station to Station provide an edge, the reliance on beacon durability limits her effectiveness at higher levels.
A-Tier: Broker
Broker plays on the verge of being S-Tier with his area denial, smoke capabilities, and explosive power. Goddard’s Vengeance and Smokestack Lightning make him a formidable opponent, with the latter providing unparalleled versatility.
Despite needing team reinforcement, Broker’s strategic playstyle makes him a reliable contributor.
A-Tier: Zephyr
Known for stealthy tactics, Zephyr thrives in spaces where traps and recon abilities are sparse. Her invisibility grants tactical advantages, with teleportation options for quick escapes. Yet, capturing the element of surprise requires careful planning given her susceptibility to detection.
A-Tier: Sonar
Sonar specializes in information warfare, although her reliance on team coordination and situational awareness might limit solo play. Her suite includes powerful recon tools like Echolocation and Sonic Surge, while Sound of Silence adds a strategic layer to infiltrations.
A-Tier: Corona
Corona’s kit synergizes beautifully, enabling strategic dashes and blinding flashes that can turn the tide of battle. Ashes to Ashes complements his aggressive approach, providing damage reduction and increased mobility, perfect for clutch situations.
B-Tier: Jaguar
Despite recent buffs, Jaguar remains overshadowed by more powerful Lancers. His traps and recon abilities offer some utility, but their effectiveness hinges on precise synergy, something not always achievable in high-stakes play.
B-Tier: Axon
Aggression defines Axon, though he’s challenged by teams fortified with recon tools. His unique Electric Guitar and sticky grenades provide close-quarters power, but risk failing without careful execution.
B-Tier: Chum
While still viable, Chum depends heavily on Chomper, a companion that’s easy to counter. Exploiting his abilities requires careful positioning to avoid getting caught out.
