Fireproof Games has just released their latest VR offering, GHOST TOWN. Known for their highly acclaimed The Room: A Dark Matter, the studio takes a new turn with this title, aiming to captivate players with its blend of puzzles and narrative-driven gameplay.
Currently available for Quest 2 and Quest 3, GHOST TOWN is also set to launch on PC VR and PSVR 2 later this year. While it ventures away from The Room series, it retains a strong emphasis on storytelling and puzzles, now intertwined with a supernatural theme. However, the developers shy away from labeling it a full-fledged horror game. Instead, they focus on suspense and mystery to enrich the puzzle-filled experience.
Developed over nearly four years, GHOST TOWN marks a major milestone for Fireproof Games. They promise significant advancements, including a roster of characters brought to life through full motion capture.
The game’s visuals are receiving high praise, even on the Quest headsets, offering an immersive journey through 1980s London. While the release dates for PC VR and PSVR 2 remain unannounced, players can dive into GHOST TOWN on Quest 2, Quest 3, and Quest 3S for $30.
