Since their exciting debut in September, the team over at Retroware has been tirelessly shaping the future of Iron Meat. Building on their initial success, they’re gearing up for some major content updates that promise to enrich this modern throwback to classic gaming with even more retro flair!
Get ready to dive into a feast of fresh content with the game’s latest update, hitting Xbox with plenty to offer.
### A New Perspective: Mirror Mode
Ever since the game launched, fans have been clamoring for Mirror Mode, and their wish has been granted! This nifty feature flips the game’s levels, allowing you to tackle them from a brand-new angle—from right to left. While it might sound like a small tweak, it adds a surprising twist to gameplay. You’ll need to complete the game on any difficulty first to unlock it, but once you do, the mirrored challenges await!
### Unlock the Supercharge!
Step up your firepower with the new automatic Supercharge upgrade, dubbed the “third tier” of weapon enhancements. With this upgrade, all your projectiles transform into a vibrant red, regardless of what tier your weapon is currently at. When you snag a third copy of any fully upgraded gun, you’ll not only boost your weapon but also give your bullets a snazzy new color.
### Extra Lives, Extra Perks
Good news for all the tacticians out there: from now on, any extra lives you earn in a level will stick with you as you move forward. This means if you wrap up a level with more lives than you started, those extra lives are yours to keep for the next round, offering a strategic advantage.
### Enhancing the Atmosphere
We’ve added new details to the backgrounds of specific levels to deepen the narrative without saying a word. You’ll notice the helicopter swooping in, raining gunfire on Meat monsters in the Forest level, and new spikes with the mid-boss at Base. Plus, our ending credits sequence now includes surviving pilots, and there are new explosive effects from the Meat meteors on Train.
### Tweaks and Touch-Ups
Alongside essential bug fixes, we’ve made several updates to improve gameplay balance and fairness. Here are some highlights:
– The default damage for the “E”, “U”, and “M” guns has been increased.
– More Meat has been added to different sections of the Moon Base.
– Some attack patterns in the MI-24 helicopter boss fight are now clearer.
– Levels have been adjusted for fairness, including changes like making Meat worms killable on Base upon appearance, and the Meat Mouth Doors on Train destructible.
These changes offer just a glimpse of what’s ahead. We’re cooking up more fresh content for Iron Meat and can’t wait to share it with you. Dive back in and explore these exciting updates today! Iron Meat is available on Xbox—don’t miss out!
