Pizza Hut is mixing things up by combining our love for gooey, cheesy pizza with the thrills of console gaming, thanks to the new PIZZAWRMR. This quirky innovation is crafted to perch on top of your Sony PlayStation 5, keeping your pizza toasty warm while you dive into your gaming marathon. However, it’s not available in stores or as a promotional freebie. Instead, Pizza Hut Canada has made the 3D printing files available for free download, inviting fans to tweak, print, and personalize their unique pizza warmers.
The PIZZAWRMR draws design cues from Pizza Hut’s iconic red roof. Its nifty lid opens much like a laptop, offering easy access to your slices. With enough room for several slices of pizza, it cleverly directs the hot exhaust from your console up into the warming area. Pizza Hut’s marketing team touts this as a splendid application of “science and engineering for the greater good.”
Those eager to get started will find STL files and a detailed PDF guide among Pizza Hut Canada’s downloadable materials. You’ll find 3D printer plans for everything from the main body and stand to the lid and manifold. The guide specifically notes that the model is tailored to fit consoles with rear ventilation measuring 11.7 x 1.31 inches, and recommends a 3D printer bed size of at least 15 x 15 inches to print the whole setup. So, if your printer isn’t large enough, you might consider cutting the model into sections or using sizable printers such as the Elegoo Neptune 4 Max, Prusa XL, or Elegoo Orange Storm Giga.
To protect your gaming console from crumbs and oil, Pizza Hut recommends setting a 34 x 23 x 2.5cm foil tray inside the PIZZAWRMR. There’s a bit of a mystery as to why they’ve switched to metric for this part, but it might be a nod to their Canadian roots. For best results, Pizza Hut suggests starting your gaming session before placing your medium pizza slices into the tray, ensuring they fit just right.
While the concept might seem out there, fast-food brands dabbling in gaming-related innovations is hardly new. Back in 2020, KFC captured our attention with their KFConsole, a gaming machine styled like a bucket, complete with a warming drawer for fried chicken. What began as a jest turned into a reality powered by an Intel NUC, bridging appetites with entertainment in true gamer style.
