Capcom is making waves with the announcement that its eagerly awaited action RPG, Monster Hunter Wilds, will be optimized for the PS5 Pro right from the get-go. Set to release on February 28, 2025, this exciting game will feature a day-one patch to enhance the experience, although Capcom hasn’t revealed the nitty-gritty details yet. However, they have provided us with some insights into the console’s graphics and resolution targets.
Monster Hunter Wilds proudly joins the ever-expanding lineup of games enhanced for the PS5 Pro. In a recent community update ahead of the game’s launch, Capcom shared that the standard PS5 version will offer two modes: ‘Prioritize Graphics’ and ‘Prioritize Framerate.’ The ‘Graphics’ mode will deliver rendering resolutions of 3840 x 2160 / 3072 x 1728 at 30 frames per second, while the ‘Framerate’ option will provide 3840 x 2160 / 1920 x 1080 at a smoother 60 frames per second.
On social media platform X, Capcom reassured fans that they have been actively working on resolving rendering issues identified during the Open Beta Test and are making steady progress in readiness for the launch.
Monster Hunter Wilds’ open beta had its fair share of performance hiccups, notably for the PC version, which faced some significant challenges. Capcom has had its struggles in the past, particularly with optimizing Dragon’s Dogma 2 for the PS5. That game’s PS5 Pro patch didn’t quite hit the mark either. Nevertheless, there’s a sense of relief as the Monster Hunter team has been proactive, working on the PS5 Pro patch well ahead of the game’s official release, offering developers the time they need to iron out any issues.
