If you’re a fan of the expansive Skyrim quest mods, there’s a notable one that’s just gotten even more impressive. Initially captivating players with its realistic plague scenario, “Death Consumes All” has now undergone a substantial update. This overhaul draws its inspiration from “The Witcher 3’s” phenomenal Hearts of Stone DLC, promising even more thrilling adventures.
For those who may have experienced the original release of “Death Consumes All” back in 2020, you’ll recall its rapid rise in popularity, garnering over 100,000 downloads on Nexus Mods. Many players were eager to dive into the creatively crafted, branching narrative spanning roughly 10 hours, all thanks to the talented Anbeegod’s work.
In response to its success, the mod creator has diligently crafted a brand-new version, enhancing nearly all aspects of the original. The updated mod, now christened “Death Consumes All – DLC Quest Mod (Revamped),” expands the main quest to a formidable 30-hour experience.
The central theme remains unchanged: a lethal plague sweeping through Skyrim, brilliantly mimicking the dynamics of real-world epidemics. This outbreak threatens to turn the population into undead, leaving you, alongside your follower Livia Salvian, to confront the chaos. Your mission is to battle fierce foes, unveil the underlying truth, and make choices that will decide the destiny of the realm.
However, this iteration introduces several fresh elements. Anbeegod has gone through the original quests with a fine-tooth comb, revamping them to enhance their flow, narrative depth, and writing quality. New quests have been integrated, boasting rich storytelling and varied choices, with an introductory quest included. The quest count has grown from “over 13” to “over 17,” pushing the envelope on what fans can expect.
The audio experience has been elevated too, with an additional 1000 lines of dialogue, ensuring a more immersive experience. Plus, there’s a new feature that allows players to “toggle off the plague,” adding a layer of control that medieval societies might have envied.
This upgrade also focuses on smoothing gameplay, aiming to optimize battle design and minimize bugs and conflicts with other mods. So, if you’re set for a 30-hour dark, undead escapade, this mod should be right up your alley. In a heartening gesture, Anbeegod has indicated that half of this mod’s donation points will support Doctors Without Borders in their fight against real-world epidemics, adding a meaningful dimension to your playthrough.
