There’s still a shroud of mystery hanging over this world, except for the knowledge of a group called the Chrysos Heirs, who have been credited with reviving the planet after enduring a millennium-long conflict between mortals and gods.
One standout character from the Chrysos Heirs is Castorice. Described in the game’s Golden Epic trailer, she’s set as the protector of the River of Souls, or Styx. Fans speculate she might represent Charon from Greek mythology, known as the underworld’s ferryman. However, according to renowned leaker Seele Leaks, Castorice might be one of the mythical Three Titans of Calamity, embodying “Thanatos, Hand of Grey.” This association with death explains why, during a teaser trailer titled “The Worlds You’ve Never Been,” a flower petal disintegrates as it touches her.
Digging deeper into her character, Castorice’s ties with death are quite clear. Thanatos in Greek lore symbolizes death itself, ending lives with a gentle touch. This mirrors Castorice’s supposed ability to end life upon contact. Curious fans are buzzing in comment sections, eager to understand the significance of a Coreflame and the necessity for the Chrysos Heirs to embark on Flame-Chase adventures.
With the anticipation building, players are also excited about the possibility of Castorice, along with the other members of the Chrysos Heirs, becoming playable characters next year.
