This week’s Nintendo Switch eShop update brings a fresh batch of SNES classics, some cool new tracks for Nintendo’s music app, and a bunch of tempting sales. Plus, there’s a lineup of new games arriving to keep you entertained.
Starting with the Switch Online collection, we’re looking at four intriguing additions, all crafted by the renowned developer Koei during the SNES glory days. Leading the pack are Nobunaga’s Ambition and Nobunaga’s Ambition: Lord of Darkness, which originally hit the shelves back in 1993 and 1994. These games transport you to Japan’s Sengoku period, where you must strategize to reunite the fragmented regions.
Following suit is Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV Wall of Fire, another masterpiece from 1994 set in ancient China. This turn-based strategy game draws inspiration from the classic historical novel of the same name, offering a dramatic take on the era’s conflicts.
Continuing our journey with Koei, we have Uncharted Waters: New Horizons. This game, with its European setting, invites players to sail and trade across the wide-open seas. First launched in 1993, it’s a nostalgic voyage into adventurous exploration.
Shifting gears to the Nintendo Music app, this week sees a peculiar addition. They’ve included 23 tracks from Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s soundtrack, but it’s only a fragment of what’s expected. Wonder when the rest will make their entry? Hopefully soon!
Looking ahead, a slew of new games is making its way to the Switch eShop, including the intriguing Which Way Up: Galaxy Games. Last week, we chatted with Turtle Flip Studio, the minds behind this title, on the Pure Nintendo Podcast. Make sure to listen in and keep your eyes peeled for our comprehensive review coming soon.
So, there you have it. That’s the lineup for the eShop this week. What grabs your interest? We’d love to hear what you’ll be playing!
