Vampire Survivors’ development team has just unveiled a roadmap that’s nothing short of a whirlwind. There aren’t any traditional notes from the game’s publisher, Poncle, but they did share a short video that showcases both current and upcoming features swirling like a galaxy.
Since its full launch in October 2022, Poncle has been on a roll, continually reinvigorating Vampire Survivors with fresh content. They’ve introduced six paid DLC expansions and countless updates, enriching the game with a broader array of characters, weapons, and stages. The most recent addition, the Ode to Castlevania DLC, dropped at the end of October 2024, bringing in over 20 new characters from the iconic Castlevania series and more than 40 new weapons.
The latest roadmap doesn’t follow a straight line, which adds to its intrigue. It highlights the recent Ode to Castlevania and its new character, Hammer, alongside previous releases like May’s Contra-themed Operation Guns DLC and February’s Space 54 free update. While many of the elements swirling in this roadmap refer to past updates, a few cryptic titles stand out, such as Pyroclasm, West Woods, House, and Final Flight. What exactly these could be—new stages, updates, or something else entirely—is anyone’s guess, but the game’s social media team is encouraging fans to puzzle out the hints embedded within this cosmic carousel.
Vampire Survivors’ New Roadmap Leaves Fans Guessing
The enigmatic nature of this swirling roadmap seems quite deliberate on Poncle’s part. Their Twitter post challenges fans with a “good luck working out what’s next,” and the social media team is actively engaging with players who are guessing what might come next. While their responses don’t give much away, they have amusingly pointed out that, as always, there still won’t be any actual vampires in the game. In response to a fan’s request for a DDR mat version of the game, they acknowledged it would be “pretty epic.” What we do know for sure is that Poncle plans on adding more achievements.
This isn’t the first time Vampire Survivors has teased fans with a roadmap full of mystery. Back in December 2023, a similarly chaotic, albeit non-animated, roadmap named several upcoming updates, many of which reappear on the 2024 list.
