It seems Xbox players are missing out on some of the simplest achievements in “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle,” an intriguing Xbox-exclusive adventure. Despite the ease of these tasks—from savoring a cornetto to whacking Nazi enemies with a guitar—many players just aren’t unlocking these milestones during their gaming sessions.
As of December 9, 2024, “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” has been tantalizing players with its adventurous escapades. MachineGames has crafted a game where players can easily rack up achievements just by indulging in tasty treats scattered across various levels like Vatican City, Gizeh, and Sukothai. These culinary collectibles—such as the cornetto in Vatican City—come with their own achievements. Surprisingly, data shows only 34% of Xbox players have bothered to snag the “Little Horn” achievement by munching on this delicious pastry.
Similarly, achievements like “Bread is Life” (where you eat aish baladi bread in the Gizeh level) and “Celestial Delight” (involving a star fruit on Sukothai) have been unlocked by just 22% and 11% of players, respectively. It’s puzzling since these consumables are quite prominent in the game. Particularly baffling is the low uptake of “Little Horn,” given that it’s an easy score right from the beginning. Perhaps players are simply adept enough to manage without these health-boosting items, relying instead on bandages to get through.
Over on Steam, the unlock rates are noticeably higher—54% for “Little Horn,” 39% for “Bread is Life,” and 22% for “Celestial Delight.” A significant factor for these differences might be Game Pass, which allows users to easily test-drive the game. Some might play briefly, decide it’s not for them, and move on without delving deeper into achievement hunting.
Then there’s the “Filling in the Blanks” achievement, which mostly involves revisiting a location. Shockingly, only about 15% of Xbox players have snagged it, compared to 28% on Steam. This might be one of the easiest achievements, but still remains largely ignored by players.
Beyond these consumable-related achievements, there’s also a trio of combat challenges deserving higher unlock percentages. For instance, only 18% of players have unlocked “Pest Control,” which involves whacking an enemy with a fly swatter—a task seemingly tougher on Xbox than Steam. Similarly, “The Right Note,” requiring players to bash a Nazi with a guitar, is sitting pretty low at 26% on Xbox, while it’s a more respectable 43% on Steam. Finally, the “A Little Tumble” achievement, acquired by pushing an enemy off a ledge, also lingers at just 23% of Xbox players compared to 38% on Steam.
While these feats are slightly more complex than simply picking up a consumable, opportunities abound throughout the game, particularly guitars and ledges. It’s a bit startling that only a fraction of Xbox players have seized these combat achievements given their accessibility.
For those outside the realm of achievement hunters, these stats might not be surprising, especially with Game Pass’s influence. But for many, the stark differences in achievement unlock rates remain unexpected. What do you think?
